Footprint

Footprint is a personal feedback tool designed to assist leaders in focusing on the needs of their followers; to understand how to provide others with the right amount of direction, support, and/or information required to best perform in their roles. Organizations that have invested in situational leadership training will find our Footprint system an essential tool to reinforce and re-ignite that investment.

Footprint provides leaders with an analysis of their effectiveness at coaching, employee involvement, and their ability to connect others into the organization's strategic goals and directions. The instrument draws on the work of Drucker, Mager, McClelland, Kotter, Benis, and Bass, plus situational and visionary leadership.

When used with its companion tool, Bothfeet, individuals have the opportunity to measure their long-range effectiveness at managing and leading within their organization. A self-analysis is combined with up to ten other surveys targeted to both direct reports and peers. The confidential feedback report assesses the following leadership competency areas:

  • Using personal style effectively to impact the motivation and commitment of others
  • Customizing leadership approaches to meet the individual needs within a team
  • Improving personal effectiveness in performance management, coaching, and employee participation
  • Being successful at aligning others with their organization's strategic vision

In addition, the Footprint/Bothfeet system generates benchmarking data designed to assist in analyzing the leadership environment within the organization and to establish a baseline for measuring the impact of leadership initiatives.

The feedback results are debriefed in settings where participants:

  • Have the opportunity to develop skills in applying current leadership practices
  • Receive one-on-one coaching from our facilitators
  • Work collectively on diagnosing and responding to their organization's benchmarking results
